It consists of two seating surfaces, one on each side of the valve, along with a vent or bleed valve in between. This configuration allows for the isolation of both upstream and downstream flow, as well as the release of any trapped pressure between the seating surfaces through the bleed valve.  The DBB valve design enhances safety by reducing the risk of fluid leakage and providing a means to safely bleed off pressure or fluids before maintenance activities. These valves can be operated manually using handwheels or levers. They can also be automated with electric or pneumatic actuators for remote operation and integration into control systems.
