Forged Steel Ball Valve — Products & Sub-categories

Forged Steel Ball Valve
Comprehensive range of forged steel ball valve for industrial applications across Africa.
Forged Steel Ball Valve Supplier in Nigeria provides forged steel ball valves designed for dependable on-off flow control, pressure containment and long service life. Forged construction provides a strong and compact pressure boundary, making these valves suitable for oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, power generation and industrial process applications. Forged steel ball valves are available in floating and trunnion-mounted configurations, with different pressure ratings, materials, seat arrangements and end connections selected according to project requirements.
Where Are Forged Steel Ball Valves Used?
Forged construction provides a strong and compact valve body for selected high-pressure and high-temperature services. The appropriate valve configuration, pressure rating, material and sealing arrangement are selected according to the process medium, operating temperature, pressure and applicable project requirements.
Engineering Design & Operation
A forged steel ball valve controls fluid flow through the rotation of a spherical ball containing a machined flow passage. The ball rotates approximately 90 degrees between the fully open and fully closed positions. When the bore is aligned with the pipeline, fluid passes through the valve with minimal flow restriction. When the ball rotates perpendicular to the flow path, the valve provides shut-off.
African Valve supplies forged steel ball valves in different configurations, including two-piece and three-piece body designs, floating and trunnion-mounted ball constructions, and full-bore and reduced-bore configurations. Materials, pressure ratings, trim arrangements, end connections and actuation methods can be selected according to valve design and project requirements.
Forged Steel Ball Valve Features
- Forged steel construction - Provides high mechanical strength and a robust pressure boundary.
- Positive shut-off - Provides reliable isolation of process pipelines.
- Compact construction - Suitable for applications where a compact valve design is required.
- Floating ball design - Commonly used for smaller sizes and suitable pressure ranges.
- Trunnion-mounted design - Suitable for larger sizes and higher-pressure applications, depending on the design.
- Full and reduced bore - Allows selection according to flow requirements and acceptable pressure drop.
- Anti-blowout stem - Helps prevent stem ejection under pressure.
- Anti-static design - Helps provide electrical continuity between valve components and reduce static-charge accumulation.
- Fire-safe options - Available for applications where fire-safe valve construction is specified.
- Emergency sealant injection - May be provided for selected valve designs and demanding applications.
- Multiple actuation options - Available with lever, gearbox, pneumatic, electric or hydraulic actuation, depending on valve size and configuration.
