Key Features & Applications
Hastelloy C276/B3 Lug Butterfly Valve Manufacturer in Africa
Large chemical pipelines often need a compact quarter-turn valve that can be bolted independently to each flange. A lugged body provides this connection while keeping face-to-face length lower than many gate or globe valves. African Valve is a prominent Hastelloy C276/B3 Lug Butterfly Valve Manufacturer in Africa, serving South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Angola and other African and overseas markets.
Lug Body Arrangement
Threaded lugs are positioned around the body so each flange is connected separately. The disc rotates through 90 degrees to open or close the flow path.A lug body can simplify maintenance around pumps or removable spools. However, retaining pressure with one flange removed is permitted only when the valve has a documented rating for that condition.
Offset and Seat Selection
Concentric designs use a resilient or fluoropolymer seat and suit clean, moderate-temperature chemical service. Double-offset construction reduces seat rubbing during opening, while triple-offset geometry uses a metal sealing arrangement for higher temperature or frequent cycling.C276 is used for mixed corrosive and chloride-bearing media. B3 is intended mainly for reducing acids and should be checked for oxidising contaminants. The body, disc, shaft and retainers must be selected as a complete material system. Size Range: DN50 to DN1200 Pressure Ratings: ASME Class 150 to Class 600 Design Standards: API 609 and ASME B16.34 where applicable Testing Standard: API 598 End Connections: Lug pattern to specified flange standard Operation: Lever, gearbox, pneumatic, hydraulic or electric actuator Body Materials: Hastelloy C276 or Hastelloy B3 Offset Options: Concentric, double offset or triple offset Seat Options: PTFE, resilient, laminated or metal seat Actuator Mounting: ISO 5211 Disc clearance must be checked against the flange and adjoining pipe bore. Incorrect flange inside diameter can obstruct the disc or damage the seat. Actuator torque depends on valve size, pressure differential, seat type and operating temperature. A high-alloy disc and shaft can increase cost, so the material specification should identify which parts are fully Hastelloy and which are compatible overlays or claddings. Typical duties include chemical transfer, acid circulation, pollution-control equipment, offshore process lines and corrosive utility systems. The lug arrangement is useful where individual flange bolting supports planned equipment removal. PMI verifies the body, disc and shaft materials. Dimensional inspection checks lug drilling, face-to-face length and disc movement. Hydrostatic shell and seat tests confirm pressure integrity and leakage. Operating torque is checked before manual or automated release. African Valve supplies C276 and B3 lug butterfly valves for process installations across Africa. The RFQ should state the chemistry, pressure, temperature, flange standard, pressure direction, offset type, seat material and actuatorTechnical Specifications
