Single Plate Wafer Check Valve
High Performance • Durable • Leak Proof
Single Plate Wafer Check Valve Manufacturer in Egypt for reliable backflow prevention in pipelines.
Technical Specifications
Key Features & Applications
A single plate wafer check valve uses one hinged plate positioned within a compact wafer body to prevent reverse flow. As forward pressure develops, the plate moves away from the seat; when the flow falls or reverses, the plate returns toward the closed position. Its lightweight construction and short face-to-face length make it practical where space, weight and installation simplicity are important.
Why Use a Single Plate Wafer Design?
The single-disc arrangement provides a relatively simple flow path while keeping the valve compact. Compared with larger flanged check-valve constructions, the wafer configuration can reduce installation space and overall valve weight.

Installation: African Valve can supply single plate wafer check valves for permitted horizontal and vertical installations. The valve should be centred correctly between the mating flanges and installed according to the marked flow direction. Pipeline layout, upstream turbulence and the position of connected equipment should be considered to ensure stable disc movement and reliable closure.
Applications in Egypt
Single plate wafer check valves can be used in water-treatment and pumping stations, irrigation networks, industrial utilities and process pipelines. Their compact form is particularly useful in installations where conventional flanged check valves would require more space.
Standards
Depending on the design, relevant standards may include API 594, EN 16767 and ASME B16.34, with pressure testing to applicable requirements such as API 598 or ISO 5208. The selected standard should correspond to the valve's construction, pressure class and service.
