Key Features & Applications
Chemical dosing systems, marine skids and corrosive utility lines often need a valve that can be opened for internal servicing without disturbing the connected pipework. A three-piece body provides that maintenance access while titanium protects the wetted parts in seawater and many oxidising chemical environments. African Valve is a leading Titanium 3 Piece Ball Valve Manufacturer in Africa, serving South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Angola and other African project locations. The valve consists of a centre body held between two separate end connectors. The ball, seats and primary seals remain inside the centre section. During planned maintenance, this section can normally be removed while the end pieces stay attached to the line. The arrangement is useful where deposits, crystallisation or process contamination may require periodic cleaning and avoids repeated disturbance of pipe joints. Titanium Grade 2 is selected where corrosion resistance is the main requirement. Grade 5 provides greater strength, but it should not automatically be considered better for every chemical service. The final choice depends on fluid concentration, temperature, oxygen content, contaminants and the possibility of stagnant crevices. Titanium performs well in natural seawater, many chloride solutions and wet chlorine service, while reducing acids and high-temperature dry halogen conditions require a separate review. The stem rotates the ball through one quarter turn. The port aligns with the pipeline when open and presses against the seats when closed. Full-bore construction supports flushing, drainage and lower pressure loss. Reduced-bore construction gives a smaller valve body where the reduced passage is acceptable. The valve is primarily intended for isolation and should not remain partly open unless control trim is specified. The centre body, end connectors, ball and stem should use the specified titanium grade or a compatible alloy. Gland parts, retainers and exposed fasteners also need review. PTFE and RPTFE seats suit many clean chemical and seawater applications. PEEK may be used where pressure or temperature requires higher mechanical strength. Metal seating is considered for solids, erosion or frequent cycling. Optional features include a blowout-resistant stem, anti-static continuity, cavity-pressure relief and ISO 5211 actuator mounting. Size Range: DN15 to DN200 Before the centre section is removed, the line must be isolated, drained, depressurised and flushed. Clearance should be provided around the body bolts and actuator. Where welded ends are used, heat input during installation should be controlled so that the seats and seals are not damaged. Titanium parts should also be protected from carbon-steel grinding dust, dirty tools and unsuitable marking materials during fabrication and assembly. Titanium three-piece ball valves are used in seawater dosing, chlorine-related processing, desalination plants, marine utilities, brine circulation and selected chemical-recovery lines. The maintainable body is particularly useful on packaged systems and offshore skids where valve replacement is difficult. Material Test Certificates verify the pressure parts and trim. PMI, dimensional inspection, cleanliness checks and NDT may be requested by the project. Hydrostatic shell and seat tests confirm containment and shutoff, while operating torque and actuator travel are checked before release. African Valve supplies Titanium 3 Piece Ball Valves for corrosive process systems across Africa. The RFQ should include fluid chemistry, titanium grade, pressure, temperature, bore, end connection, seat material, maintenance requirement and actuation method.Titanium 3 Piece Ball Valve Manufacturer in Africa
