Heavy Duty Investment Casting Ball Valve

African Valve supplies heavy-duty investment casting ball valves in South Africa for reliable quarter-turn isolation

African Valve, a Heavy Duty Investment Casting Ball Valve Supplier in South Africa, supplies investment-cast ball valves for reliable quarter-turn isolation and demanding industrial service. Investment casting can produce valve bodies with accurate dimensions and detailed geometries, while the final valve design, materials, pressure class and manufacturing specifications determine its suitability for a particular application.

These ball valves can be supplied in carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloy materials for different operating conditions. Depending on the configuration, they can be used in oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, mining, power generation, water treatment and general industrial applications.

Engineering Design & Operation

The valve operates through a 90° rotation of a spherical ball located between two sealing seats. In the fully open position, the bore through the ball aligns with the pipeline, allowing fluid to pass through the valve. Rotating the ball by 90° positions the solid portion across the flow path and shuts off the fluid.

The investment-casting manufacturing process enables complex valve-body geometries to be produced with good dimensional accuracy. Heavy-duty designs can incorporate three-piece construction, reduced or full-bore configurations, blow-out-proof stems, anti-static devices, locking arrangements, soft seats, or metal seats, depending on the application.

Heavy Duty Investment Casting Ball Valve Features

  • Investment-cast construction - Provides controlled body geometry and dimensional accuracy.
  • Heavy-duty configurations - Available for demanding industrial and process services, subject to the selected design and materials.
  • Reliable shut-off - Designed for on/off isolation of compatible process fluids.
  • Quarter-turn operation - Allows the valve to be opened or closed through approximately 90 degrees.
  • Full and reduced bore - Available to suit different flow and pressure-drop requirements.
  • Floating ball options - Commonly used in smaller and medium-sized valve designs, depending on pressure class and manufacturer design.
  • Trunnion-mounted options - Available for designs requiring additional ball support, including larger sizes and higher-pressure services.
