How Is Temperature Maintained During Operation?

The valve body is surrounded by an external jacket through which steam or another heating medium continuously circulates. This jacket transfers heat uniformly around the valve body without coming into contact with the cryogenic process fluid. While the heating jacket maintains the external temperature, the globe valve mechanism continues to regulate or isolate the flow inside the valve. This combination helps minimize thermal stress on external components and supports stable valve operation in applications where controlled heating is required alongside cryogenic service.

Valve Construction

Valve components include the globe body, which is encased within a steam jacket, a precisely machined disc, a replaceable seat ring, an extended bonnet, the rising stem, and an operating mechanism. The disc travels vertically against the seating surface to regulate the flow of fluids gradually and/or close off fluid passage completely. An extended bonnet keeps the packing far away from the cryogenic region and improves sealing performance after long hours of use.
