How Does a Wafer Butterfly Valve Support Automated Flow Control?

The butterfly valve consists of a wafer mounted between the two flanges of the pipeline. This valve is mounted with the help of flange bolts that pass through the valve body from both sides. On activation of the pneumatic actuator through the application of compressed air, the disk turns for an angle of 90° to either open, regulate or close the flow passage.

Valve Construction

The components of the valve include a wafer valve body, a precisely machined disc, stem, seat, which may either be soft or metal seat, bearings, an ISO 5211 mounting pad, and the pneumatic actuator. The pneumatic actuator may be double acting or spring return type and comes with optional accessories such as solenoids, air filters and position indicators..
