Pneumatic actuation provides fail-safe positioning (fail-open or fail-closed) critical for safety instrumented systems (SIS) protecting against overpressure, tank overflow, and emergency depressurization scenarios in large-scale LNG facilities handling massive cryogenic fluid volumes.

The pneumatic actuator mounts above the extended bonnet, maintaining actuator components at ambient temperature while controlling cryogenic process fluid below.
