DIN Non-Rising Stem Gate Valve

High Performance • Durable • Leak Proof

API 6DASME B16.34ISO 17292CE Certified

DIN Non-Rising Stem Gate Valve ensures tight shut-off and smooth operation in high-pressure pipelines.

Technical Specifications

Key Features & Applications

Egypt’s water, irrigation and wastewater infrastructure relies on dependable isolation valves across transmission and distribution networks. A DIN non-rising stem gate valve keeps the stem within the valve body as the gate moves, making the design particularly useful for buried pipelines, valve chambers and installations where vertical operating space is restricted. DIN gate-valve designs are also used in water and utility applications where full-flow isolation is required

Key Features

  • Non-Rising Stem: The stem rotates without moving vertically outside the valve.

  • Full-Bore Passage: The gate retracts from the flow path when fully open, helping minimise flow restriction.

  • Bi-Directional Isolation: Suitable for isolating flow in either direction.

  • Space-Saving Construction: No additional overhead clearance is required for external stem travel.

  • Resilient or Metal Seating: Seating arrangement can be selected according to the service.

  • Handwheel Operation: Handwheel, gearbox, electric actuator or pneumatic actuator can be selected according to the installation.

Materials & Components

Both cast iron and ductile iron can be used for the main valve body. Ductile iron provides greater strength and impact resistance, while cast iron offers a cost-effective option for suitable water services. Stainless steel is preferred for the NRS stem and seal ring where greater corrosion and wear resistance are required; brass is used where specified for compatible water-service applications.

  • Stem Nut: Brass / Bronze

  • Packing: Graphite / PTFE

  • Gaskets & Seals: EPDM / NBR

  • Handwheel: Cast Iron / Ductile Iron

  • Fasteners: Stainless Steel / Carbon Steel

Applications in Egypt

These valves are particularly suitable for municipal water distribution, irrigation networks, wastewater systems, water-treatment plants and industrial utility lines. The non-rising stem arrangement is especially practical where valves are installed in valve chambers, underground networks or confined spaces.

Standards

Depending on the selected design, relevant requirements may include DIN EN 1171 for industrial gate valves, EN 1074-2 for water-supply gate valves and applicable EN 558 face-to-face dimensions. Flange dimensions and pressure testing should follow the specified valve and project requirements.
