Industrial, marine and chemical process systems require valves capable of handling highly corrosive fluids, chloride-containing media and demanding operating conditions. African Valve, an F44 Valves Manufacturer in South Africa, provides F44 stainless steel valves designed for reliable isolation and flow control in severe-service applications. F44, commonly identified with UNS S31254, EN 1.4547 and 254 SMO, is a 6% molybdenum super-austenitic stainless steel selected for its high resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and aggressive seawater environments.
F44 Valves Features
Excellent corrosion resistance - Provides high resistance to aggressive corrosive and chloride-containing environments.
Superior pitting resistance - Suitable for applications exposed to seawater, brine and high-chloride process fluids.
High crevice corrosion resistance - Helps improve reliability in demanding marine and chemical applications.
High molybdenum content - Supports enhanced resistance to localized corrosion.
Good mechanical strength - Suitable for demanding industrial pressure conditions.
Seawater service capability - Well suited for desalination, marine and offshore applications.
Reliable shut-off - Provides dependable isolation of process pipelines and equipment.
Actuation options - Available with manual, gearbox, pneumatic or electric operation depending on valve design.

Materials & Components
F44 valves can use ASTM A182 F44 / ASTM A351 CK3MCuN for applicable forged and cast components. F44 / UNS S31254 (254 SMO) may be used for the body, bonnet, disc, ball, stem, shaft and trim, while stainless steel or compatible corrosion-resistant alloys may be selected for specific components. Seats can use PTFE, RPTFE, graphite or metal, with graphite/PTFE-based packing and PTFE, graphite or spiral-wound gaskets. Material selection depends on the fluid, pressure, temperature, chloride concentration and corrosion conditions.
