Key Features & Applications

Actuated Control Valve Manufacturer in Africa

Product Introduction

Modern process plants depend on automated flow control to maintain stable operating conditions and reduce manual intervention. An Actuated Control Valve combines a precision control valve with a pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic actuator to regulate the flow of liquids, gases, steam, and other process media automatically. By responding to signals from the control system, the valve continuously adjusts its position to maintain the required process parameters. African Valve is a Leading Actuated Control Valve Manufacturer in Africa, manufacturing and supplying Actuated Control Valves in various material grades, pressure classes, trim configurations, and actuation options for projects across Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, and other African countries, along with international export destinations.

Why Is an Actuated Control Valve Used?

Actuated Control Valves are installed where process variables such as flow, pressure, temperature, or liquid level require continuous automatic adjustment. Unlike manually operated valves, they respond instantly to signals from PLCs, DCS, or other automation systems, allowing precise regulation without operator involvement. These valves help improve process stability, reduce operational errors, and support efficient plant operation in applications involving steam, water, chemicals, hydrocarbons, gases, and other industrial fluids.

Design & Working Principle

The valve consists of a control valve body, internal trim, actuator, stem, and positioner. A control signal from the automation system is transmitted to the actuator, which moves the valve stem and plug to regulate the flow opening. As process conditions change, the actuator continuously repositions the valve to maintain the desired operating value. Depending on service requirements, Actuated Control Valves can be supplied with pneumatic diaphragm actuators, electric motor actuators, or hydraulic actuators, together with accessories such as smart positioners, limit switches, solenoid valves, and air filter regulators.

Materials & Construction

The valve is manufactured using:

  • Carbon Steel – ASTM A216 WCB

  • Stainless Steel – ASTM A351 CF8 / CF8M
