How Does a Suction Diffuser Protect Pumps and Improve Flow?

A Suction Diffuser is located immediately at the pump suction and has many critical duties performed by one component. During the fluid intake into the diffuser, the built-in strainer filters out debris from the fluid stream prior to its entry into the pump. Simultaneously, the flow straightening vanes decrease the turbulence of the fluid stream and evenly distribute it on the pump impeller.
