Triple Offset Butterfly Valve delivers tight, bubble-proof shut-off with smooth disc operation.

Triple Offset Butterfly Valve Manufacturer in Africa

Product Introduction

Engineered for severe service applications where zero leakage, high temperatures, and high pressures are critical, the Triple Offset Butterfly Valve delivers dependable shut-off while minimizing wear on sealing components. Unlike resilient seated butterfly valves, this design uses three geometric offsets and a precision-machined conical sealing surface that eliminates friction between the disc and seat during operation. The result is excellent sealing performance, extended service life, and reliable operation in demanding process conditions. African Valve is a leading Triple Offset Butterfly Valve Manufacturer in Africa, manufacturing and supplying valves in multiple material grades, pressure classes, end connections, and actuation options for projects across Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, and other African countries, along with international export destinations.

Why Are Triple Offset Butterfly Valves Preferred for Critical Services?

Triple Offset Butterfly Valves are widely selected for applications where conventional butterfly valves cannot withstand extreme temperatures, high operating pressures, or aggressive process media. Their metal-to-metal sealing arrangement provides bi-directional zero leakage and eliminates the continuous rubbing found in resilient seated designs. These valves are commonly installed in steam lines, refineries, offshore platforms, LNG terminals, power stations, and petrochemical plants where operational reliability and long service life are essential. Their ability to withstand thermal expansion and repeated operating cycles makes them suitable for continuous industrial operation.

Design & Operating Principle

The valve incorporates three independent offsets to improve sealing efficiency. The first offset positions the shaft behind the disc centreline, the second moves the shaft away from the pipeline centreline, and the third introduces a conical sealing geometry. During operation, the disc disengages from the seat almost immediately after opening, eliminating unnecessary friction and reducing sealing surface wear. When closed, the disc compresses evenly against the metal seat to achieve dependable shut-off. Depending on application requirements, the valve may be operated manually or automated using pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, or gear actuators.

Materials & Construction

The valve is manufactured using:

  • Carbon Steel – ASTM A216 WCB

  • Stainless Steel – ASTM A351 CF8 / CF8M
