Key Features & Applications
An electric diaphragm valve combines diaphragm-based isolation with an electric actuator for remote or automated operation. Electric Diaphragm Valve Suppliers in South Africa can provide these valves for process lines requiring automatic on/off or modulating control. African Valve supplies electric diaphragm valve configurations for water treatment, chemical processing, mining and industrial systems.
Electric Actuation and Diaphragm Operation
An electric diaphragm valve combines an electric actuator with a diaphragm-based valve body to provide automated flow isolation or regulation. When an electrical control signal is received, the actuator's motor and gear mechanism generate the required movement to operate the valve stem or compressor. This movement causes the diaphragm to move away from or toward the valve seat, allowing the process flow to open, regulate or stop.
In the closed position, the diaphragm is pressed against the sealing area to isolate the process medium from the upper actuator mechanism. This construction helps prevent the process fluid from entering the actuator area and eliminates the need for conventional stem packing within the process boundary. Depending on the actuator configuration, the valve can provide electric on/off operation or modulating control through a suitable control system.
