Technical Specifications
Key Features & Applications
African Valve is a largest Floating Ball Valve Suppliers In South Africa, manufacturing and supplying valves designed for positive shut-off and flow isolation in industrial piping systems. These valves feature a floating ball mechanism that automatically improves sealing performance under line pressure, making them suitable for handling liquids, gases, steam, hydrocarbons, and other industrial process media. Manufactured in various material grades, pressure classes, end connections, and operating configurations, Floating Ball Valves are supplied to industrial projects across Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, and other African markets, as well as international export destinations.
Why Is a Floating Ball Valve Used?
Floating Ball Valve consists of a valve body with a mechanism for isolation of flow that operates through a rotation of a precise machined ball by 90 degrees thus allowing or restricting the flow of fluids, gases, steam, etc. Unlike a trunnion mounted ball valve, in case of a floating ball valve, the ball is not supported by any other component apart from the seats and the stem in the valve body, which allows the ball to move due to pressure. Thus the ball comes in direct contact with the downstream seat and creates an extra tight seal resulting in minimal leakage.
Materials & Construction
The valve is manufactured using:
Carbon Steel – ASTM A216 WCB
Low Temperature Carbon Steel – ASTM A352 LCB
Stainless Steel – ASTM A351 CF8 / CF8M
Duplex Stainless Steel – ASTM A995 Grade 4A
Super Duplex Stainless Steel – ASTM A995 Grade 5A / Grade 6A
