In a Pneumatic Double Eccentric Butterfly Valve, the shaft is positioned away from the centreline of the disc and the sealing surface. This arrangement allows the disc to move clear of the seat shortly after opening, reducing friction and wear during operation.
For pipelines that operate regularly or require more demanding sealing performance, this design offers an alternative to a standard concentric butterfly valve. Pneumatic actuation allows the valve to be operated remotely, with double-acting and spring-return options available depending on the required operating sequence.
